The Film and Stage Plays Act cap 222 is an Act of Parliament which provides for controlling the making and exhibition of films, for the licensing of stage plays, theatres and cinemas; and for related purposes.

This Act was assented to on 22nd November 1962. In the past, it has been used as a tool to suppress freedom of expression, public dissent to oppressive regimes and a form of creative censorship.
